portfoli-oh no he didn't ...

i got this big hard sided portfolio from the Habitat for Humanity resale store near me … and i’m starting to personalize it …

in addition to decorating the outside i made a divider for the inside. at some point i’m gonna build a folder into the lid … but that’s gonna take some more thinking …

sew-mentum

i got laid off recently so i’ve had a lot of free time to get back to projects i’ve ignored for a while. This chair is made out of an old banner that the architects i worked for over 5 years ago were throwing out … but finally i figured out how to use the sewing awl i got for christmas a couple years ago, and after much swearing and a broken needle … it is sittable!

this is an old bookcover i’ve had since i was a kid, i think i used to put my Dragonlance books in here. i put the cosmic Yin-Yang on there at the time … but i’ve been collecting some of my favorite patches and this seemed like a good place to “archive“ them.

the cross patch is open at the top to tuck something into, there is a surprise under the flower patch (an old JFK half dollar), and the safety pin will be open at the top to create a pocket.

Playing Catch Up

pretty much every week for the last year and a half i’ve drawn some kind of illustration on the top of the page of my planner. Some are more elaborate, some quick and dirty. it’s been a good way to keep momentum going …

now … what was that about momentum …

The Deep End

Ok so every time i try and start one of these art blogs i get so lost in the weeds of catching you all up on everything i’ve ever done so far … and so i never actually get anywhere …

so i’m just gonna start with the things i’m doing right now and hope that if i can get someithign going … i can fill in the history later …

Finished the CD for my (former?) carpool buddy …
